Bring the excitement of adventure and the joy of storytelling to your students! Whether in person or online, author Kim Brown and her real-life motorcycle-riding dog, Alaska the Motodog, inspire kids to read, write, imagine, and create. With decades of teaching experience, Kim knows how to engage every age group, from preschool through teachers, and motivate audiences with stories that spark curiosity and confidence.

1. Author Visits & Workshops (Kim Only)
No dog required! These sessions focus on sparking creativity and building confidence in students.

2. Indoor Alaska’s Adventures (Author + Alaska)
Meet Alaska the Motodog in a safe, indoor environment!
- Alaska joins for storytime, assemblies, or workshops
- Emphasis on reading, creativity, and Alaska’s real-life adventures
- Great for classroom visits, library events, or assemblies
- Available in person only
3. Outdoor Alaska’s Adventures (Author + Alaska + Motorcycle)
Take storytelling outside! This interactive option combines literacy with adventure.
- Alaska, the Motodog, and her motorcycle join for an unforgettable outdoor assembly
- Talk about safety gear, adventure, and the power of storytelling
- Includes live demonstrations, interactive Q&A, and reading inspiration activities
- Ideal for large groups, playgrounds, or outdoor school events
Virtual Visits
Can’t bring us to you? No problem!
We also offer virtual author visits for classrooms and libraries, complete with live Q&A and read-alouds.
Book Orders
Books can be pre-ordered so students receive their signed copies on the day of the visit. (Details provided when you book a visit.)
We also have pre-visit and post-visit flyers to help families continue the adventure.

Our mission is to create meaningful stories and interactive experiences that spark a love for story, encourage confidence in young readers, and invite children to experience adventures through the eyes of Alaska the Motodog.
Pricing & Logistics
Alaska’s Adventures visits schools, homeschool groups, libraries, and hospitals — tailoring each session to fit your audience size, space, and needs.
Our honorarium begins at $250 for author-only visits and varies based on the type of event:
- Author Visits & Workshops (Kim Only): starting at $250
- Indoor Alaska’s Adventures (Author + Alaska): starting at $350
- Outdoor Alaska’s Adventures (Author + Alaska + Motorcycle): starting at $500
Additional details:
- Session length: Storytimes are typically 20–30 minutes; workshops and assemblies run 45–90 minutes.
- Tech needs: I use my laptop to share visuals and videos (including Alaska riding!) – a projector or large screen is helpful for bigger groups.
- Logistics:
- Indoor visits: no special requirements.
- Outdoor visits: safe space for the motorcycle + mic/sound system for larger groups.
- Virtual visits: conducted via Zoom or a platform of your choice.
Discounts are available for multiple sessions, and we can sometimes reduce or waive the honorarium when groups coordinate bulk book orders. We’ll work with your budget to find the best fit.
